ABOUT ME

"Well, I'm having a good time. Which makes me feel guilty too. How very English." - David Attenborough

I'm a stem cell biology researcher trained in the UK, USA, The Netherlands and France . I've worked in both academia as well as the pharmaceutical industry. I recently joined the wonderful University of Manchester to continue my work on stem cell models of cardiac development and disease.

Photo of Me

In my research I use human pluripotent stem cells to recreate aspects of heart development in the lab. This helps us to learn about the processes of human heart cell specification but also to make cell models of inherited heart diseases.

As part of my research I enjoy using computer science to help analyse data and solve problems. Through this site you will find links to the applications I have made for my own use as well as to help other scientists in my field. If you use these apps I hope you find them useful, and if you have feedback I'd be very pleased to hear from you.

MY SCIENTIFIC APPLICATIONS

I currently have two applications online. CellTools is for calculating and recording cell growth dynamics and CardioProfiler is for analysing RNA-seq data from cardiac cells and tissue. Click on the links to go to the apps.
